Celebrations
With a decent climate and good transport connections, Monaco has various international events throughout every year.
1. The International Circus Festival targets some of the greatest circus companies from around the world. The festival gives out one Gold and Silver Clown Awards to the two best companies.
2. Part of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge (IRC), this winter rally targets drivers who want to race the difficult course. The challenges including ice and snow, make an exciting week-long of racing.
3. In this event, drivers race to Monaco from five possible towns, equaal distance away from Monaco.
4. A feast and day dedicated to the patron saint of Monaco, Dévote, that includes a religious ceremony, torchlight procession, and blessing. At the end of this annual feast, a boat is set on fire for religious traditions, and hounoring of Dévote.
5. This professional tennis tournament for men played on the clay courts of the Monte-Carlo Country Club. This tournament is considered one of the world “Super Nine” tennis tournaments, has had players like Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer and Novac Djokovic.
6.The biennial Grand Prix de Monaco Historique brings pre-1984 vehicles to the streets of Monaco's Principality.
7. This is a race through the streets of the Principality. Including best F1 drivers in the world, including Lewis Hamilton, Ayrton Senna, Graham Hill, Michael Schumacher and Fernando Alonso.
8.These two days are dedicated to Saint John the Baptist and include religious services, a procession, music, bonfire and ends with a ball on the Place des Moulins.
9. A day dedicated to honouring Saint Roman one of Monaco's saints. The day ends with a dance in the Jardin Saint Martin.
